Glenbarr Abbey, Glenbarr by Tarbert
Open 10–5 closed Tuesday
A glimpse of family living in a beautiful 18th century house. Lovely ground with riverside and woodland walks, gift shop. Tours are given by the laird and his wife, Angus and Jeanne Macalister.

The Carradale Gold Foundry (behind Carradale village hall)
Open Mid–May to Sept Mon–Sat, Oct to Mid–May Mon–Fri. 8.30–5 daily. Situated in a retired farm, surrounded by gardens, the company produces an extensive selection of gold and silver jewellery. Workshop and shop.

Network Centre, Carradale Village

Network Centre Carradale is designed to be an introduction to the historical, cultural and social background of the highland fishing village. The centre is also a focal point for a number of way-marked walks in the local forest. Tearoom and shop.

Airds Castle
The medieval remains of Airds Castle are set on the headland between the Carradale harbour and the tiny bay of Port Righ.

Saddell Abbey and Castle, Saddell
Across the road from Saddell Abbey is the castle. Visitors are welcome to leave their cars at the gatehouse and explore the estate on foot. The castle has an impressive tower house and was completed in 1512 as a residence for the Bishop of Argyll. The castle and the estate are both owned by the Landmark Trust.

It is organic and odour-free, no chemicals are used here, and all tanning is done by hand. Specialising in natural coloured sheepskins and deer skins, this ancient tanning method produces a superior skin.

Kilbrannan Chapel, Skipness
Dedicated to St Brendan. Some very fine gravestones are to be found protected by wooden covers.

Skipness Castle, Skipness
13th century substantial ruins and nearby chapel enlarged during the Scottish Wars of Independence.

Campeltown Cross, Cambeltown
The cross is one of the finest in Argyll. It is carved out of a single slab of blue-green cholorite-schist which comes from a quarry near Loch Sween. The front depicts biblical scenes. The cross dates from around 1380

The Picture House, Hall Street, Campbeltown
Opened in 1913 with a distinctive Art Nouveau Style this is one of the earliest purpose built cinemas in Scotland. The architect was Albert Gardner. A grade B listed building.

Davaar Island
A popular day trip linked to the peninsula at low tide by a mile long shoal. The main attraction is the cave painting of the Crucifixion which was executed in secret by local artist Archibald Mackinnon in 1887.

Mull of Kintyre Music and Arts Festival
Held every August in Campbeltown. Features traditional Scottish and Irish bands. Takes place this year 17–20 August 2006.
